From the standpoint of design philosophy, this building reveals a concept of the vertical city. It is divided into nine zones, and serves five key functions.

1. International-standard, Grade-A Offices

Zone Two to Zone Six are offices with about 220,000 square meters area. In each zone, there is a transaction layer floor with fully-equipped space for companies to do financial trade businesses.

In order to satisfy the financial service sectors such as banks, insurances, securities, funds, and regional headquarters of transnational organizations, it offers 24/7, customized office space, systems and services.

2. A Luxury Five-star Hotel with Boutique offices

In Zone Seven and Zone Eight, there is a luxury five-star hotel with boutique offices - J Hotel, which is high-end customers-oriented. The total area is around 80,000 square meters. Operating by top international hotel management companies, the J Hotel provides customers experiential accommodation environment, personalized services, and a luxurious space to share ideas and communication.

3 Themed Boutique Businesses Area

B1 level, B2 level and the skirt building are a themed boutique businesses area, which is approximate 50,000 square meters. It contains unique commercial facilities such as brand retail stores, specialized restaurants, business service centers and lifestyle space, which offers office workers, business people and residents with comprehensive, high-quality services.

4 Sightseeing, Cultural and Recreational Facilities

On the top of Zone Nine, there is a sightseeing area that covers 4,000 square meters. Visitors can enjoy an interactive, high-rise sightseeing, and observe the city’s beauty. This place is an integration of sightseeing, shopping, entertainment, catering and recreational functions, which enables people to relax outside the working hours.

5 Characteristic Conference Facilities

In Zone One and the skirt building, the area for conference and banquet is nearly 10,000 square meters. The multifunctional activities center in the skirt building can contain as much as 1,200 people. There are also a banquet hall and conference facilities that can meet people’s need of forums, exhibitions, fashion performances, celebrations, parties, etc.

In addition, in each zone, there is a separate aerial garden and a suite of supporting facilities, which can offer various services to the people in the zone. At the bottom of Zone Two to Zone Eight, there are totally 21 sky lobbies that can be found every 120°, which are composed by double skin curtain wall and have the features of open-eyesight and good-perspective. These lobbies have supporting services for daily life, offer people a comfortable space for working, leisure and social activities.

Moreover, on the B2 level, the public passageway is connected with Line 2 and Line 14 of the metro, Jin Mao Tower, as well as the Shanghai World Financial Center.
