Shanghai Tower

To begin with, designers propose the trinity design concept. The Jin Mao Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Center and the Shanghai Tower will represent past, present and future respectively, which reflects the vision of the Shanghai Tower: “ China, an everlasting future.”

 

The Shanghai Tower contains inter main floor, inner glass curtain wall, outer glass curtain wall and flexible supporting system. The shape of the inter main floor is a circle, the center of the circle aligns along the height direction, and the radius shrinks gradually.

 

As an integrated building, the function of the Shanghai Tower is mainly for office, accompanied by convention, exhibition, hotel, sightseeing, entertainment, etc. It is divided into 5 functional areas – public commercial entertainment area, high, medium and low office area, enterprise hall area, boutique hotel area and top function experience area.

 

Green architectures and sustainable development are common goals for both the designers and the property owners. From the very beginning, the designers started to take two green building standards into account – LEED in the United States and Assessment Standard for Green Building in China. Finally, it gets LEED Gold Certification and Three-star Certification.

 

The Shanghai Tower project can be regarded as a synthesis of a deep understanding of technology, and a clear perception of the traditional Chinese culture.
