Geographical Condition

The Shanghai Tower is located in Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone in Pudong District. The east of it is the Shanghai World Financial Center, and Jin Mao Tower stands in the north of it.

Pudong District is on an alluvium; the soil of the construction site is soft with a large amount of clay. Before setting up the girder, engineers drove 980 piles, the depth of which got to 86 m. Then, 60,881 cubic meters concretes were poured to form a foundation slab with a thickness of 6 m.
